Voter Registration and Information
Good evening, students.
As we approach voter registration deadlines in Minnesota, now is an important time to get informed of upcoming elections and to check your voter registration status.
Election Day is Tuesday, November 5.
I encourage you to visit the M Vote website, which is designed to provide voter information for University of Minnesota students, faculty and staff. The website also includes information on the Minnesota Secretary of State’s Polling Place Finder.
Unlike many states, you can register and vote on Election Day in Minnesota. However, to save you time at the polling place, we encourage you to register before Election Day.
- The deadline to register on paper is 5 p.m. on Tuesday, October 15.
- The deadline to register online is 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, October 15.
- Otherwise, you can register on Election Day at your polling place.
An early voting site will be available on the Twin Cities campus from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, October 22 at the Weisman Art Museum.
If you have any questions about voting or registering to vote, please contact one of our campus vote coordinators:
