Onward to an exciting fall semester

Good morning, students, faculty and staff.

I am very excited to welcome back our students from Crookston, Duluth, Morris, Rochester and the Twin Cities. I hope you all had a wonderful summer.

I also am thrilled to extend a very special welcome to our newest students. Like you, this will be my first semester at the University of Minnesota.

Having spent nearly 40 years in higher education, I believe nothing compares to the energy of a college campus in the fall. There is a heightened sense of enthusiasm that is just hard to describe—almost like a feeling of endless possibilities.

I am delighted to experience my first semester here in Minnesota with each and every one of you. So good luck, enjoy yourselves, and have a great semester.

And to our faculty and staff, who work so diligently to support student success, advance innovative research, and drive University operations, thank you. I look forward to partnering with you so that, together, we can elevate the University of Minnesota to even greater heights.
