Maroon, Gold and Bold: Help shape the University’s future

Dear students, faculty and staff,

Our moment is now.

The MPact 2025 strategic plan is winding down, and so we are at an inflection point where we can come together as a community and reimagine what the University of Minnesota will become.

As we begin to design a bold new vision that represents what we truly aspire to be, charting the future course of our University—one that pushes boundaries and redefines what is possible for our system of five strong campuses—we want to hear from you.

In the coming days and weeks, you will be invited to participate in a series of engagement opportunities—town halls, listening sessions, focus groups and surveys—so that we can gather your thoughts, ideas and perspectives on the future of our University.

Survey

Later today, you will receive an email from Qualtrics ([email protected]) with a link to a survey that allows you to quickly and confidentially share your perspectives. We appreciate your input by February 24 so that all responses can be analyzed and delivered to the steering committee.

Town Halls

The University will convene a series of town halls so that students, faculty and staff can engage in meaningful discussions about the future of our University System. Anonymized minutes from these town halls will then be compiled for the steering committee.

More information about the town halls is available on our Maroon, Gold and Bold webpage. Space is limited, so we encourage you to RSVP in advance. In addition to these sessions, schools, colleges and units across the five campuses will organize separate engagement opportunities to ensure broad participation in this process.

  • Crookston: February 24, 25, 26 and 27
  • Duluth: March 31
  • Morris: February 20
  • Rochester: March 18
  • Twin Cities: February 19, March 6 and March 18

Your engagement will help ensure our systemwide strategic plan is not only comprehensive, but also reflective of the many voices that make up our University community. Feedback from our University community will also help the strategic planning steering committee identify priorities and guide initiatives that shape our path forward and drive meaningful progress.

Together, we can create a roadmap that honors our past, while boldly defining our future.

Sincerely,

Rebecca Cunningham
