Serving MN Students

  • The University continues its upwards trend of enrolling more students from Minnesota
  • Systemwide, the University has had its highest enrollments of MN students during the past two years.
  • For 2019-20, the most recent year of high school graduation data available, the University enrolled 10.3% of all MN high school graduates in Fall 2020. 
  • In  Fall 2021, UMTC had the highest enrollment of new freshmen from Minnesota with 4,714 students, an increase of 71% since 1990.

Record-high graduation rates

74.3% is a record-high four-year graduation rate for the Twin Cities campus. The rate has doubled since 2001, which is the single-greatest improvement among all U.S. doctoral-granting institutions.

90% student placement systemwide career outcomes rate

Where a student initially lands postgraduation is an early indicator of a successful student outcome. Across multiple examinations of a students’ employment after graduation, University alumni have highly successful first-destination outcomes, positioning them well for further success.
