Elimination of Fees for Sponsored Email Accounts
The process for providing sponsored guest email and internet-access accounts has been improved, eliminating fees for individuals and departments, enhancing the ability of University constituents to engage and collaborate with guest speakers, visiting faculty, and other guests.
New IT Contract Saves $2.5 Million for Better Service
The U of M uses service-now.com, a key piece of technology to support its business partners and end users. A new contract extension, coupled with process and administrative changes, will save approximately $2.5 million over the next three years. It will reduce the per-user cost by more than 38 percent, allowing up to 1,400 licenses at the same total cost.
Law School Saves $150,000 in IT Costs
The U of M Law School has redirected its help desk to IT rather than to technology support staff within the school. Through this one simple change, the Law School will be able to reallocate more than $150,000 to other priorities.
