President Kaler's statement on the U.S. Supreme Court's Travel Ban decision

Wednesday, June 27, 2018
Yesterday's closely split decision by the U.S. Supreme Court on the Travel Ban is of significant concern to the University. While the safety and security of our nation is paramount, we know that academic and cultural exchanges build trust, collaboration and discovery that actually strengthen our national security. We also count international students, faculty and staff as important members of our University community and state.
We hope that for the citizens of countries affected by the Court's decision, the Trump Administration will continue to offer a waiver process so that talented academic professionals, students, and staff can contribute to our core mission, enjoy the benefits of our nation, and continue to share their talents and expertise with others.
We know this will affect members of our community and their families. Additional detail for our students, faculty and staff may be found at
